Postal Automation

All mail processing at JLS is focused on minimizing postage costs for our clients. Using our multi-line optical character readers (MLOCRs,) the latest postal automation technology from OPEX, Bowe Bell + Howell and PARASCRIPT, we read and barcode thousands of pieces of mail an hour — even hand written pieces. Aside from saving money by automating mail, our commingling operation can produce additional savings of up to 25% on postage, because we achieve better volume discounts than customers can get on their own. This means our customers are likely to realize savings even on small mailings.

JLS participates in the USPS' MERLIN program, allowing us to pre-test mail for acceptance. The USPS maintains an in-plant acceptance unit at JLS, which not only strengthens our relationship, but also expedites distribution to the Post Office's processing facilities. Utilizing our own transportation, fulfillment and warehousing capabilities, JLS can pick up mail from your site, process it at our facility and have it accepted by the Post Office on site.
